The Pastry Demi Chef de Partie is responsiblefor assisting with the daytoday operation of the Pastry Kitchen.The Pastry Demi Chef is the first point of contact for PastryCommis Chefs and Pastry Kitchen Interns and supports the ExecutivePastry Chef Pastry Sous Chef and Pastry Chef de Partie withmanaging the station.

Duties andResponsibilities

  • Primaryfocus is to prepare and bake breads cakes pastries cookies sconesand desserts for all F&Boperations
  • Follow recipes and presentationspecifications following special dietary instructions whererequired
  • Assist in training culinary skills tojunior staff
  • Help in menucreation
  • Operate standard kitchen equipmentsafely and efficiently
  • Ensure that stationopening and closing procedures are carried out tostandard
  • Clean and maintain station and overallPastry kitchen through practicing good safety and following allsanitation and food production procedures andcodes
  • Assist withordering
  • Assist with the enforcement of Health& Safetyprotocols

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degreein baking and/or pastry and 2 years of largevolume baking/pastryexperience OR 5 years of largevolume baking/pastryexperience
  • Experience and proficiency in bothsmall and large scale bakingoperations
  • Previous experience in a leadershiprole in the kitchen
  • Able to meet the physicaldemands of the position
  • High standards forquality andpresentation
  • Selfmotivated
  • Ableto work under pressure
  • Excellent communicationand interpersonalskills
