Our well-established investment, life insurance, and retirement planning client in Lethbridge is seeking a talented Financial Assistant to join our dynamic team. This candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of our financial processes. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process new account opening documents and account maintenance documents as requested by advisors.
  • Prepare documentation and process transactions for purchases, redemptions, fund switches, and transfers and various other requests as directed by the advisors.
  • Ensure timely completion of client applications, trades, client information updates and other back-office processes.
  • Respond to last-minute requests from advisors during client meetings.
  • Communicate with advisors, clients, and head office both verbally and in writing to ensure processes run smoothly.
  • Track the progress of account openings, trades, transfers, and various account maintenance requests to ensure accuracy and completion.
  • Deliver a high level of personalized customer service by responding to client and head office inquiries and requests in a timely manner; and offering rapid resolution.
  • Provide coverage at the reception desk and perform additional administrative duties as requested.

Compensation & Hours: 
  • The rate of pay will be $18-$20/h
  • Office Hours Monday – Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
 Qualifications: 
  • Previous experience in the investment industry/financial service sector
Mutual Fund License preferred 
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be in good standing with applicable regulators (MFDA/CIRO)
  • Positive and professional demeanor
Requirements:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and provide satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Satisfactory credit & criminal record check is a requirement to obtain your Mutual Fund Registration for employment.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete an accredited Mutual fund course such as IFIC (Investment funds in Canada), CIFC (Canadian Investment Funds Course) or equivalent and be eligible to register for their mutual fund license within 4 months.
  • Maintain required license(s) and registrations, compliance with The Code of Conduct, company policies, and industry best practices & regulations.
