Le rôle

Sous la responsabilité du Chef de la technologie, le·la Vice-président·e de l'ingénierie sera chargé·e de superviser le département de l'ingénierie. À ce poste de cadre exécutif, vous serez responsable de la performance et des résultats de l'organisation. Vous vous concentrez sur la planification stratégique, la direction d'équipe, la gestion de projet et la fourniture de solutions technologiques de haute qualité, évolutives et innovantes pour soutenir nos objectifs commerciaux. La personne idéale est une personne qui collabore efficacement avec des équipes interfonctionnelles afin de favoriser la réussite et de créer un environnement de travail positif.

Ce que tu feras

Direction et gestion :
  • Assurer une direction visionnaire à l'équipe d'ingénieur·es, en favorisant une culture d'innovation, de la collaboration et de l'amélioration continue.
  • Recruter, encadrer, développer et conserver une équipe d'ingénieur·es très performante, en veillant à la croissance professionnelle et au développement des compétences.
  • Fixer des objectifs et des attentes claires pour les gestionnaires de l'ingénierie et leurs équipes, en les alignant sur les objectifs de l'entreprise et les OKR “Objectives & Key Results”.
  • S'approprier le budget du département d'ingénierie, ainsi que le modèle de planification des ressources.
Planification stratégique :
  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre la vision stratégique du département d'ingénierie en l'alignant sur la stratégie produit et la vision de l'entreprise.
  • Identifier et mettre en œuvre de nouvelles technologies et pratiques pour améliorer l'efficacité, l'évolutivité et la sécurité de notre plateforme de commerce électronique.
  • Collaborer avec l’équipe exécutive pour définir et prioriser les initiatives et projets techniques.
Gestion de projets :
  • Superviser la planification, l'exécution et la livraison des projets, en veillant à ce qu'ils soient réalisés dans les délais prévus, en respectant le périmètre et le budget alloué.
  • Établir et maintenir des processus de gestion de projet ainsi que des meilleures pratiques afin d'améliorer la productivité et la responsabilité.
  • Contrôler et rapporter l'avancement des projets, en traitant les problèmes ou les risques qui se présentent.
Excellence technique :
  • Veiller à ce que l'équipe d'ingénieur·es respecte des normes élevées en matière de qualité du code, de tests et de documentation.
  • Favoriser l'amélioration continue des pratiques de développement de logiciels, y compris les méthodologies agiles, DevOps et CI/CD.
  • Rester au courant des tendances de l'industrie, des technologies émergentes et des meilleures pratiques pour s'assurer que notre pile technologique reste compétitive.
Collaboration et communication :
  • Favoriser une solide collaboration interfonctionnelle avec la gestion des produits, l'UX, le marketing, le marchandisage et d'autres départements afin d'assurer l'alignement et la réussite des projets.
  • Communiquer efficacement les concepts techniques et l'état d'avancement du projet aux parties prenantes techniques et non techniques.
  • Assurer la liaison entre l'équipe d'ingénierie et la direction générale, en fournissant des informations et des recommandations pour soutenir la prise de décision.

Qui tu es
  • Baccalauréat en informatique, en ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe (maîtrise de préférence).
  • Plus de 10 ans d'expérience en ingénierie informatique, dont au moins 5 ans dans un rôle de direction.
  • Expérience reconnue dans la gestion et le développement d'équipes d'ingénieurs dans un environnement à forte croissance et à rythme soutenu.
  • Solides connaissances techniques avec une expertise dans les plateformes de commerce électronique, les technologies web et les méthodologies de développement de logiciels.
  • Excellentes compétences en matière de gestion de projets et capacité à mener à bien des projets multiples et complexes dans le respect des délais et du budget.
  • Solide expérience de la gestion d'un portfolio de fournisseurs, y compris de fournisseurs de solutions, de partenaires d'intégration et d'agences de développement.
  • Des compétences exceptionnelles en matière de communication, de relations interpersonnelles et de direction.
  • Passion pour le plein air et engagement envers la mission et les valeurs de notre entreprise.
  • Le bilinguisme (français et anglais) est essentiel, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit.
  • Capacité à travailler sous pression dans un environnement en constante évolution.

The role

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department. As an executive, you will be accountable for the organization’s performance and results. This role will focus on strategic planning, team leadership, project management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative technology solutions that support our business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams to drive success and foster a positive work environment.

What you will do

Leadership and Management:
  • Provide visionary leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team, ensuring professional growth and skill development.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the engineering managers and their teams, aligning them with company objectives and OKRs.
  • Own the engineering department’s budget, including the resource plan model.
Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and execute the engineering department's strategic vision in alignment with the product strategy and the company vision.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and practices to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and security of our e-commerce platform.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and prioritize technical initiatives and projects.
Project Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain project management processes and best practices to improve productivity and accountability.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or risks that arise.
Technical Excellence:
  • Ensure the engineering team adheres to high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software development practices, including agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our technology stack remains competitive.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with product management, UX, marketing, merchandising, and other departments to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Communicate technical concepts and project status effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in e-commerce platforms, web technologies, and software development methodologies.
  • Excellent project management skills with a history of successfully delivering multiple, complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong experience in managing a portfolio of vendors, including solution providers, integration partners and development agencies.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Passion for the outdoors and a commitment to our company’s mission and values.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
