We're looking for a Infrastructure Operations Engineer  to join the AdaptiveWork team in Richmond Hill.

As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer  , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our production systems. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to build and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure that supports our applications, both in the cloud and in physical data centers.

What You'll Do

Monitor & Automate:  Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to detect issues before they impact customers.  Automate repetitive tasks to reduce operational overhead. Incident Management:  Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement fixes to restore service quickly.  Lead post-mortem analyses and implement lessons learned from incidents. Data Center Operations:  Oversee the operation and maintenance of hardware and infrastructure in data centers, ensuring high availability, resilience, and fast recovery from hardware failures. Capacity Planning:  Collaborate with engineering teams to plan for infrastructure scaling in both cloud and data center environments, ensuring systems can handle growth and traffic spikes. Infrastructure as Code (IaC):  Design, implement, and maintain IaC solutions using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, for both cloud and data center environments. Collaboration:  Work closely with development teams to define and document operational requirements, ensuring seamless integration of new services into production. Security & Compliance:  Ensure infrastructure and applications comply with security best practices and are resilient against potential threats. Performance Optimization:  Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and work on solutions to optimize resource utilization and efficiency across cloud and data center environments.
What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role. Experience managing large-scale physical infrastructure in data centers, including server hardware, networking, storage arrays, and power management systems. Proficiency with orchestration tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt Stack. Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, PHP, Perl, or PowerShell. Strong understanding of networking protocols, DNS, load balancing, and security best practices. Experience in incident management, including root cause analysis and post-mortem reporting. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have:

Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Podman, or LXC. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Rundeck, Azure DevOps, or similar. Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and cloud-native technologies. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a DevOps environment.
