We are currently seeking a Network Specialist who possesses a positive and professional attitude to assist with the growth and development of our customers. The specialist will need to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
**Responsibilities**
- Design, configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Must have skills to create design/engineering documentation and good knowledge of common software such as MS Word, Visio, Excel etc.
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Continual evaluation and optimization of current network infrastructure (latency reduction, performance optimization, and health monitoring)
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Understand Firewall and Security

- Expert understanding of network architecture, security, and optimization
- Expert understanding of the OSI layer
- Expert understanding of transport protocols (TCP, UDP)
- Expert understanding of Extreme Network products
- Expert understanding of Firewalls (Checkpoint & Fortinet)
**Preferred Assets**
- CCNA Level Cisco Certification
- Experience with SPB
- Experience in the telecommunications industry (data networking, wide area networks, metro area networks, MPLS)
