Asa Senior Building Inspector/Lead Building Inspector you willoversee and lead inspection activities to ensure that constructionprojects comply with local building codes safety regulations andzoning laws. Your role will be vital in maintaining high standardsfor construction quality and safety within thejurisdiction.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Leadand supervise a team of building inspectors providing guidancetraining and support to ensure effective and accurateinspections.
- Conductthorough inspections of complex and highprofile constructionprojects verifying adherence to building codes safety standards andapprovedplans.
- Reviewand approve building plans and specifications ensuring they meetall required regulations andstandards.
- Resolvecomplex inspection issues and address significant code violationsworking closely with contractors architects andengineers.
- Prepareand review detailed inspection reports documentation and compliancerecords for accuracy andcompleteness.
- Coordinatewith other municipal departments and agencies to facilitateinspections and address any crossdepartmentalissues.
- Staycurrent with changes in building codes regulations and industrybest practices and incorporate this knowledge into inspectionpractices and teamtraining.
- Actas a liaison between the public construction professionals andmunicipal officials to address concerns and provide expert adviceon buildingrelatedmatters
Requirements
- Relevantcertification or diploma in Building Inspection ConstructionManagement or a relatedfield.
- Extensiveexperience as a building inspector or in a similar role with provenexpertise in conducting inspections and managing complexcases.
- Indepthknowledge of local building codes zoning regulations and safetystandards.
- Strongleadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a teamofinspectors.
- Excellentanalytical and problemsolving skills for addressing complexinspectionissues.
- Effectivecommunication and interpersonal skills for interacting with variousstakeholders and providing clearguidance.
- Strongorganizational skills with the ability to manage multipleinspections and maintain detailedrecords.
