About the position

As a member of the leadership team, you will make a meaningful contribution to the implementation of an educational philosophy and strategic plan, encouraging, preparing, and supporting the development of engaged, inquisitive, and active young citizens. You will work under the supervision of the branch’s principals and the Deputy Head of the School.

Your main responsibility will be to lead the planning and implementation of curriculum as well as in their monitoring and evaluation. This position requires high availability.

Ensure the implementation of the TFS curricula based on the French National Education programme and Ontario within the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning

Implement both initiatives and best practices which will improve the learning experiences offered to our students as well as encourage academic ambition

Share with teachers the best practices, acting as a role model, in order to help them grow in their profession

Organize and supervise the teachers’ professional development in line with the School’s policy

Supervise the development of the assessment policy along with its relevant procedures ensuring they are best practices

Support the monitoring of student progress Adapt an educational training watch allowing the school to remain informed on all recent educational topics

Support to ensure continuity of learning, ensure coherence of actions undertaken, develop strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning and evaluate the impact of their implementation 

Inspire and motivate teachers so they deliver a world class teaching and learning environment.

Working as a team will be critical for your success in this position. You will be expected to work with:

The principals and the member of the Teaching and Learning team such as thevice-principals and the Director of Teaching and Learning of other branches

The Executive Director of Innovation and Technologies to ensure the effective use of new instructional technologies

The Director of the Learning Forum to support teachers in developing practices that support the learning of all students and lead their progress.

Grade-levels and Departement coordinators

Teachers for the implementation of curriculum in compliance with the various policies

Experiences in/as:

A PYP Coordinator in a bilingual school

A member of the IBEN network, as a workshop facilitator and site visitor 

Curriculum design 

Leading a team of teachers

Pedagogical coordination 

Training, coaching and mentoring teachers

A French school in a foreign country would be an asset.

Required competencies:

Solid knowledge of the PYP framework and philosophy and the continuum learning experience PYP/ MYP/ DP 

Experience in school wide continuum visits (IB and/or CAIS)

An inspiration leader, who can motivate and coach teachers in their teaching and learning practices

An understanding of curricula including the French curriculum of the French National Education, the Ontarian programs would be an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, good listener and team worker

Able to adapt easily with the ability to create and innovate

Methodical and meticulous

Developed interpersonal skills and openness of mind

Bilingual (French and English). 

Strong IT skills

Qualifications:

Be a school teacher and postgraduate studies in education (Master level or equivalent)
