Our Western Canadian region is seeking a Waste Management Leader to join one of our fastest- growing business lines. The candidate would join our North American waste management group of 120 professionals.

GHD has a strong mentorship program and this candidate will be working directly with the Business Group Leader of the waste management group. Professional development opportunities through the GHD Business School including internal global technical conferences along with external training are available and participation in relevant industry associations is supported and encouraged. 

This position is a phenomenal opportunity to be part of an established Solid Waste practice with an exciting future ahead. We are seeking a technically strong Waste Management Leader  who wants play an active role in growing our waste management team to leverage GHD’s significant experience in new and innovative technologies.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Providing leadership in the growth and direction of GHD’s Waste Management practice  Establishing and maintain long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects Leading proposals for new projects Leading waste management projects on time and budget for municipal and private clients requiring permitting, operations support, detailed design, construction management and inspection, and environmental studies Owning the preparation of technical reports and complete peer reviews of designs completed by others in the Waste Management group Undertaking liaison activities with regulators Providing mentorship and leadership to intermediate and junior technical staff across our offices in Western Canada Providing leadership in the growth and direction of the North American Waste Management Team

What you bring to the team:

Engineer with a . in AB and BC (preferably both), or be eligible, scientist or planner 15+ years of experience in the solid waste industry Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a consulting role Valid class 5 drivers' license with driving record in good standing Willingness and ability for overnight travel and to conduct field work Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work in a highly-skilled and diversified project team Experience in organic waste processing and waste technologies is considered an asset
