What you will do…

The Coordinator is responsible for operational leadership and supervision of the program. The Coordinator will ensure positive, professional communication with staff and clients on an ongoing basis. Will respond promptly to all requests, queries, and concerns for the facilitation of the training, job search support for clients, case management of clients, and curriculum organization and development. Ensure program supply needs meet the monthly budget requirements and track program expenditures to ensure accuracy. The Coordinator will assist with the promotion/marketing of the overall project and support the development, implementation/monitoring, facilitation and evaluation procedures for operating the project as set out by association policy/guidelines and contractual obligations. The Coordinator will maintain accurate and timely records/statistics and evaluation information related to the activities undertaken/outcomes achieved, and complete monthly reports. 

The Coordinator will demonstrate the ability in leading, coaching, and cultivating a work environment of collaboration and teamwork, and display passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the Y’s mission, vision, and core values. 

Some of the tasks of this position include:

Project management experience required  Supervision and or leadership experience  Course/program facilitation or related experience  Demonstrated leadership and high level of judgment  Knowledge of the skilled trades an asset  Experience managing budgets  Curriculum development experience is an asset  Assist with the establishment and monitoring procedures for the intake, screening, selection, and deselection of project participants  Assist with the promotion/marketing of the overall project and mentorship component to the community  Support the development, implementation/monitoring, and evaluation procedures for operating the project as set out by association policy/guidelines and contractual obligations  Maintain accurate and timely records/statistics and evaluation information related to the activities undertaken/outcomes achieved

What you will bring…. 

Ideally, you will have a completion of a post secondary degree or diploma in a related educational field. Leadership/ supervision and project management experience, with familiarity of government funding. Knowledge of job developing/ marketing/ employment counselling. Knowledge of the Skilled Trades in Ontario. Ability to work with community partners/employers, build, and maintain relationships.

Experience with diverse individuals, specifically immigrants, and employers in an employment context.

High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, computer and report writing skills. Excellent problem solving, research and creative skills. Ability to work with clients with diverse backgrounds and skill level. You will work directly with staff and client information so previous experience working with confidential data and client information is strongly preferred.
