Accounting Manager

Position Summary : The Accounting Manager position serves as a key financial analysis and accounting resource at the property accounting level, who provides insightful and timely financial information to the Operations Team, whilst working along side other departments such as Procurement, Accounts Payable and Treasury. This position also provides leadership to the other Property Accountants within the team.
Responsibilities :
Financial Due Diligence
Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for the property accounting portfolio which includes:Review and/or prepare monthly journal accounting entries prepared by property accountantReview and prepare monthly account analysis of assets, liabilities and P&L accounts Monitor that capital expenditure policy has been applied consistently and accurately Prepare, review and assist in coordination of annual budget and quarterly forecasts for property Operating Statements and CAPEX portfolio in conjunction with Operations and Controller. Prepare and submit specific reports or schedules and financial impact analysis of tenant legislation in the respective province e.g. AGIs, ARIs, NORRs, where required Prepare and review schedules for realty tax analysis and appeals where applicable Review and prepare any required analysis or supporting documentation to support acquisition and disposition of properties Maintain proper quarterly and year end accounting working paper files. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls. Other duties as assigned by reporting manager.Other
Assist reporting manager in providing financial guidance to various stakeholders e.g. Procurement, Leasing & Revenue and Operations departments Assist reporting manager in identifying system or process issues & make recommendations for enhancements Manager queries from Operations and Head Office staff & auditors Assist in review and documentation of accounting processes and procedures; recommend and implement changes, if deemed necessary Continuous review of business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness Ad hoc tasks as requested by reporting manager or senior managementQualifications:
CPA designation or final stages 3-5 years minimum relevant industry experience with full cycle accounting experience Working knowledge of IFRS and its applications Strong analytical skills Ability to work under tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritize Self- starter who can work independently and in a cross functional team Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Proficiency in Excel is a requirement Working knowledge of SAP and BPC is an asset#LI-Hybrid
