Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Project Management, The Project Controller supports select major projects to ensure the successful planning, resourcing, execution, monitoring, control and closure of the Project Controls deliverables for these projects. Supporting the Project Managers in the areas of Planning/Scheduling, Cost Control, Progress and Performance, Reporting and Change Management, the Project Controller will be required to constantly consider the accuracy, timeliness, transparency, credibility and professional appearance of the Project Controls deliverables.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Communicate project controls related news, decisions, issues, etc. to project team(s). In following the guidelines contained within the Project Execution Plans, the Project Controller will ensure the correct processes and procedures are being utilized on projects while continually exploring opportunities to improve efficiencies. Responsible to ensure Cost, Schedule, Risk, Progress and Performance Measurement, Change Management and Forecasting processes are implemented on select projects in a consistent and uniform format in supporting the project managers. Audit reporting of all sub-contractors and vendors recommending corrective action where required to ensure consistent, high quality deliverables and in support of project schedules. In addition, report on the progress of the select projects though reports, risk review sessions and team status review meetings. The frequency of which are to be determined by the relevant Project Manager. Provide to the Project Managers, the project team and Manager of Project Management a project controls analysis and review of all controls related data and work mitigations for corrective action.Oversee deliverables from select project teams and subcontractors. Implement, follow and make recommendations to policies, procedures to ensure that the approach is consistent from project to project, timely, maintains data integrity and meets the needs of the Manager of Project Management and all relevant Project Managers. Assist in the development of and maintain fully integrated project schedules to support Project Managers. Maximize the use and effectiveness of the Project Controls software tools including interfaces with other systems. Champion the use of these systems including; implementation, following the procedures, utilize and make recommendations for change. Monitor and accurately track and report scope growth/reductions using the Change Management process. Ensure that scope changes are accurately reported with changes to cost and schedule. Responsible for accurate progress and performance measurement, analyzing and monitoring project forecasts, working closely with Project Managers and the Manager of Project Management to manage risks. Provide project controls reporting including a monthly project report, KPIs, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting, and participate in monthly risk review sessions and team status reviews. Develop/manage lessons learned program aiding in development of continuous improvement methods. Be a mentor and model Enerflex’s Core Values.

Qualifications

A postgraduate degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience. PMP certification an asset. 5-10 years of diverse experience in project controls/management. Experience in the Oil & Gas Services Industry (preferably in fabrication, operation, design, or construction) would be an asset. Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, OneDrive).
