Location:Variouslocations acrossSaskatchewan

Asa Building Department Manager/Director you will oversee and managethe operations of the building department to ensure compliance withbuilding codes regulations and safety standards. Your role will bepivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of the department andthe successful of building projects within thejurisdiction.


KeyResponsibilities:
  • Leadand manage the building department including supervising staffoverseeing departmental operations and ensuring effectiveperformance.
  • Developimplement and enforce policies procedures and standards to ensurecompliance with building codes regulations and safetystandards.
  • Overseethe review and approval of building plans permits and inspectionsto ensure adherence to local codes andregulations.
  • Coordinatewith other municipal departments agencies and stakeholders toaddress and resolve buildingrelated issues and facilitate projectapprovals.
  • Monitorand evaluate departmental performance identify areas forimprovement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency andservicedelivery.
  • Provideleadership and support to department staff including trainingmentoring and performancemanagement.
  • Prepareand present reports budgets and recommendations to municipalauthorities and stakeholders regarding building departmentactivities andinitiatives.
  • Stayinformed about changes in building codes regulations and industrybest practices to ensure departmental practices are uptodate andeffective.


Requirements
  • Relevantcertification or diploma in Building Management PublicAdministration or a relatedfield.
  • Provenexperience in a management or leadership role within a buildingdepartment or related area with a strong understanding of buildingcodes andregulations.
  • Excellentleadership and organizational skills with experience in managingteams and departmentaloperations.
  • Stronganalytical and problemsolving skills for addressing complexbuilding and regulatoryissues.
  • Effectivecommunication skills for interacting with municipal officialsstakeholders and thepublic.
  • Abilityto develop and implement policies procedures and strategic plans toimprove departmentalperformance.
