Position Summary:

As a Systems & Security Specialist you will be responsible for assessing, designing and implementing operationally sustainable, highly available and secure enterprise systems and networks. You will regularly work with stakeholders to identify and translate requirements into fully delivered technical architecture. You will respond to, troubleshoot, determine root cause and resolve system issues. You will be responsible for monitoring, measuring and reporting on the performance and capacity of enterprise systems. After hours support/on-call duties will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, install, configure and maintain server, storage, network and Wi-Fi infrastructureProvide general oversight of implementation and system troubleshooting activitiesProvide training and mentorship to other team membersConduct security, performance and risk analysis for network and information systemsAssist in designing, planning, documenting and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategiesEnsure operational, performance and security monitoring of all designated enterprise systemsEnsure system documentation and inventories are maintainedAssist in the maintenance of relevant policies and proceduresAct as an escalation point for system related incidents, including security incidentsEnsure all assigned incidents are properly addressed in accordance with predeterminedService Levels and Incident Management processesActively participate in the Problem Management process through the identification and correction of recurring issuesEnsure a smooth support transition from the delivery teams to the relevant Support teamsWork with delivery teams, IT, and business customers to support initiatives, provide estimates, assist with implementations, and ensure that solutions are highly operational, available, and secureBecome intimate with the corporate application, server, network, and roadside infrastructureCommunicate changes, fixes, and processes to the end-user communityEnsure management is updated on issues in a timely mannerAdditional tasks may be assigned as required

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise systems, virtualization, storage, networks and Wi-Fi infrastructureExperience with supporting application development environments, including automation of rapid environment provisioningExperience with IT security technologies and best practices requiredExperience with highly available multi-site system design requiredExperience supporting z/OS, Microsoft Windows Server, Unix or JUNOS systems requiredExperience with VMware and other virtualization technologies, including environment orchestration and self-service provisioning preferredExperience managing Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and DHCP preferredCollege or University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferredSystem & security technical certifications an asset (JNCIA, CCNP, CCSP, CISSP, MSCE, etc.)Knowledge and experience with IT governance frameworks such as COBIT and PCI DSS an assetFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban preferredStrong ability to communicate and document clearly and effectivelyAbility to work effectively and contribute to a team environmentAbility to follow processes and guidelinesAbility to work with all levels of staffAbility to take personal initiative and observe confidentialityAbility to work with internal and external vendors in a professional mannerAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
