Wage: $32.80 - $34.76 includes $3.00 per hour shift differential and Government Wage Enhancement (currently $6.00/hour for fully certified ECEs)

Benefits: YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, 6% vacation pay (includes scheduled operational closures), paid training, full benefits package, 5% employer-matched pension, discount on child care (excluding IT Care), education and career advancement opportunities

Hours: Shifts between 6:15am and 7:30pm Monday to Friday, Flexible options of 8-hour rotation on averaging agreements

Location: YMCA Robert Ogilvie Care & Learning Centre

The YMCA BC is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and YMCA BC is the largest provider in the north, serving: Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Prince George, Pouce Coupe, Tumbler Ridge and Vanderhoof. YMCA Child Care is a home away from home.

Responsibilities of this role:

Interact directly with the children, providing quality care and creative programming.  Establish and maintain positive daily communications and interactions with families  Assist in planning and implementing of a consistent child-centred program  To work with staff team to deliver a high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum  Adhere to all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies

Qualifications:

Current and valid BC Infant & Toddler Early Childhood Educator License to Practice Three satisfactory professional references & experience working with children in a child care/recreational setting  Current Emergency Child Care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain  Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search
