Position purpose-

The planner/scheduler position is responsible for assessing, monitoring and making recommendations to the Area Supervisor regarding the planning, scheduling and coordinating of labor, material and system resources for maintenance and operational activities. This position requires a working knowledge of pipeline operation and maintenance activities and knowledge of the planning, scheduling, procurement and the integrated management systems.

Key accounatbilities-

In charge of maintenance/improvementplannification& execution of critical utilities equipment (turbines, air-compressor, chiller, etc.

1. The plannerwillbe in charge ofanticipatedworkorder preparation such as:

Work order analysis

Diagnosis ofthe problem location

Definition of required intervention (scope, operation and task list)

Reservation of spare parts needed

Identification of spare partsneeded 

Identification of required skills(Trades people) to complete a job.

Estimated time requiredfor completion of jobs.

Estimated cost associationfor the work order/completion of the job

Integration of information inthe maintenance software

The job for the next worker

2. In charge ofconstructingand updating the weekly schedule:

Compile production planned stoppages and shutdowns

Make a work order schedule(parts available …)

Workshop maintenance team capacity (total man hours needed)

Create a weekly maintenance schedule 

Schedule adjustments

3.Responsible of the weekly planning meeting withOperations/Production team

4.Calculate KPI’s

5.Updating theschedule according toplanned and unplannedevents (emergency, curative maintenance, …)

6.Monitor deviations and variancesin scheduleand assist in the developing of alternative methods for corrective action.

7.Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.

8.Prepare weekly schedules for weekly planning meeting with Operations and Maintenance.

9.Establish root cause and work to resolve any issues which could affect supply of parts and/or equipment performance.

10.Liaise with other maintenance personnel and production supervisors as is necessary to keep them informed on the progress of maintenance and repairs.Liaise with Operations, and Engineering to develop and review planning documents.

11.Candidates will escalate where appropriate any issues/areas needing attention;

12.Other duties as required.

Job Specifications-

Participate in continuous improvement programs

Understandand respect the rules concerning safety, quality, hygiene and the environment.

Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Roquette Pea processing plant and its operations.

Functional competencies-

Good understanding of all Trades/craftskills

Good communication skills and open to feedback

Candidate will have aptitude for logistics, planning and scheduling

Applicants will have excellent Vendor Management Skills; and

Candidates will have the aptitude to participate and pass planning certification courses.

Experience working with large data sets and sorting and reconciling data.

Technical competencies-

Proficient to use the Microsoft series of office software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,and Project).

Good technical (mechanical, electrical, etc.) knowledge of industrial equipment regarding “best practices” (vibrationanalysis,material,lubricationanalysis, hydraulics, alignment, …) and “precision maintenance techniques”

Ability to gain good operational knowledge of production processat Roquette.

Knowledge of troubleshooting /RootCauseAnalysistraining (continuous improvement)

Good understanding of regulatory requirements

Good aptitude for administration, documentation controls

Be able to read schematic and diagramsand drawingsfor the purpose of determining parts lists.

Ability to Analyzeweekly schedule break-ins

Abilityto balancetheschedule between plannedmaintenancejobs andnew jobs (give it the appropriate scheduling priority: PM compliance)

Ability to work with operators and supervisors.

Good CMMS process and use knowledge (work orders portfolio management)

Qualifications -

Education: Degree or Technical diploma in Engineering or related discipline.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience working as a Planner/Scheduler in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry.

Strong knowledge and experience of SAP and MS Project. 

Good understanding of technical reporting and formatting.

Specific requirements: This position will require spending time on the shop floor with some walking, climbing, lifting etc.

Business Trip s (Percentage) : Up to 20%prior to plant startup
