Title: Sr. Canada French Language Manager
Location: Toronto, CA
Duration: 12 Month Renewable Contract
 
Overview:
  • Responsible for language quality for our French products (Canada French, France French) across the user experience (Marketing, Product, Customer Success).
  • Ensures editing of Intuit customer-facing materials is completed by the appropriate OSP preferably in-country when permitted.
  • Ensures a consistent tone of voice, personality and culture is maintained across the language markets (i.e., France, Canada).
  • Owns and manages the in-market style guide across the language family.
  • Owns and manages the in-market terminology and translation memories across a language family. Drives linguistic quality across the language family through our translation vendor channel.
  • Responsible for linguistic training and providing ongoing feedback on translation quality across a language family to our vendors.
  • Drives resolution of linguistic bugs through OSP and internal processes.
  • Prioritizes international language bugs that impact the local customers' experience.
  • Ensures terminology and translation changes in the product are implemented and validated.
  • Incorporates "follow-me-home” and customer feedback into E2E business and linguistic strategy across the language family.
  • Ensures cross-functional groups in marketing, product development and customer success are receiving the right level of support.
  • Ensures that critical feedback on local market content is shared with the right teams to enhance the quality of the customer experience.
  • Educates local teams on the localization/translation process.
  • Coordinates review work with design teams in order to ensure tone and terminology consistency across the product.
  • Manages the review process across the language family and ensures quality criteria is met within established SLAs.
  • Oversees the third-party teams and ensures they are working on the right priorities within our established processes and timelines.
  • Works closely with Localization Manager to improve processes (i.e., generative translation processes, identify scalability gaps within localization workflows and with outside systems).
 
Skills:
  • Must be a native-level speaker of one of the languages in the language family.
  • 8+ years of experience in language management and language quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in linguistics or translation; masters preferred.
  • Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator.
  • Excellent written and verbal fluency in English required.
  • Working knowledge of translation tools such as Phrase, WorldServer and Trados.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SAAS software, accounting terminology and practices is a bonus
