Assistant Produce Team Leader

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full Time Assistant Produce Team Leader at our Food Store location in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. What You Will Do:
• Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives with a strong customer-focused approach
• Provide legendary service at all touch points through various communication channels
• Lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency
• Assist with effectively leading, coaching, and managing the development and direction of the reporting team members
• Assist with managing and monitoring the activities and operations of the La Ronge Produce Department to achieve budgeted goals, including but not limited to ordering, merchandising, margins, expenses, culture, recruiting, scheduling, productivity, and performance
• Procure, receive, and display product with a focus on well-organized, visually appealing presentation
• Ensure maintenance on all equipment is completed to schedule
• Follow all Food Safe and Health and Safety regulations and practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Will Work With: Reporting to the Produce Team Leader, you will be a key participant in initiating, developing, and executing plans and policies to ensure continued growth in sales, service, and customer satisfaction.
The Community: La Ronge is a vibrant town located on the shores of Lac La Ronge. It is home to the La Ronge Ice Wolves, many community parks, a great variety of food, and a sandy beach right down town and can boast the convenience of being close to campgrounds, hiking trails, golf courses, and of course world class fishing lakes

Who You Are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
• You have a grade 12 education or a combination of relevant experience; background in the retail produce industry is considered an asset
• You have retail experience in a supervisory role; Co-operative Retailing System and Produce experience is considered an asset
• You are well organized and capable of attaining a high-level of production with a minimum amount of supervision
• You must be able to strategically plan and organize both your own tasks and those of your team, delegating tasks when necessary
• You are honest, trustworthy, results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do
• You are familiar with safe food handling practices and procedures
• You believe in building relationships, collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
• You have the ability to fulfill extensive physical labour job requirements – standing, performing regular heavy lifting, and frequent operation of a pallet jack
• You have the ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
• You have a flexible work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
