The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Executive Department is now accepting applications for the following Full-Time Term position (starting August 1, to July 31, ) based out of La Ronge, Sucker, River, and Hall Lake SK:

Youth Justice Intervention Liaison

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following job duties:

Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, schools, and residents to identify and address ongoing high-risk situations in the community. Conduct regular outreach activities in the communities affected by violence to provide resources, support, and information to high risk youth and their families. Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and forums focused on violence prevention and intervention. Identify youth at risk of justice involvement and provide mentorship, counseling, and support services to divert them from contact with the criminal justice system. Develop and implement programs aimed at educating youth about the dangers of street-oriented youth groups that participate in criminal activities and promote positive alternatives. Collaborate with schools, social services, and other agencies to create comprehensive intervention plans for at-risk individuals. Serve as a liaison between law enforcement and the community to foster trust, cooperation, and information sharing. Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce violence and crime in the communities of Hall Lake, Sucker River, and La Ronge. Provide case management services to youth at risk, including referrals to education, employment, housing, and substance abuse programs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities, client interactions, and case progress. Monitor the progress of individuals in intervention programs and provide ongoing support to ensure successful reintegration into the community. Stay current on trends, best practices, and research related to high-risk and street orientated youth groups and prevention efforts.

Candidates must possess the following job specific qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of experience in community outreach, social services, or law enforcement, with a focus on gang prevention and intervention. Strong understanding of gang culture, dynamics, and related issues. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and in high-risk environments. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Successful completion of a background check. Must provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector check.
