Quelles sont mes responsabilités ?

Le gestionnaire de la performance des trains est chargé de fournir des solutions d'ingénierie de haute performance dans les délais et le budget convenus pour soutenir l'entreprise et les objectifs généraux de l'entreprise.

 

Dans ce rôle, vous :

• Diriger une équipe d'ingénieurs système dans le développement et l'intégration de systèmes de véhicules ferroviaires.

 

• Définir l'architecture physique et fonctionnelle du système ferroviaire en ligne avec les exigences du client. Vous vous assurez que chaque fonction applicable est correctement attribuée à un système ou au contrôle conventionnel des trains. Vous assurez le respect des processus d’ingénierie et des normes réglementaires pour fournir des solutions de haute qualité.

 

• Élaborer des plans d'action et coordonner les ressources avec le gestionnaire des systèmes ferroviaires pour résoudre les problèmes et définir des plans d'atténuation, le cas échéant.

 

• Sont responsables de la performance globale du train, de l'intégration fonctionnelle des systèmes et rendent compte des progrès au responsable de l'ingénierie du projet. Vous vous assurez que les livrables du projet Train System sont fournis dans le respect des heures budgétisées et des délais définis grâce à la planification des tâches.

 

• Soutenir les ingénieurs système dans la définition des exigences du système et des sous-systèmes ainsi que dans la gestion des fournisseurs externes. Vous veillez à ce que les attentes claires en termes de livrables techniques, de calendrier et de responsabilité soient définies.

 

• Travailler avec les ingénieurs de contrôle des trains et de schémas pour garantir que les fonctions électriques et les interfaces des systèmes sont correctement intégrées.

 

• Assurer la liaison avec les ingénieurs et les experts techniques pour assurer la conformité aux normes industrielles et réglementaires appropriées. Vous travaillez avec des fonctions d'ingénierie multidisciplinaires pour garantir une conception entièrement intégrée, sûre et conforme. Vous apportez également un support aux équipes de la Ligne de Production, des Approvisionnements, de la Qualité et des Tests.

 

• De plus, vous rapportez l'avancement technique du projet et effectuez des revues de conception des systèmes ferroviaires avec le client final. A ce titre, vous êtes l'interface technique du client et apportez votre soutien au Project Engineering Manager et au Project Manager.

 

 

 

Vos responsabilités comprennent :

• Définir l'architecture physique et fonctionnelle du système ferroviaire, attribuer les fonctions du train aux systèmes du véhicule ou au contrôle conventionnel des trains, garantir l'intégration fonctionnelle des systèmes et les performances du train, y compris la dynamique du véhicule.

 

• Assurer un leadership technique pour garantir que le cycle de conception, depuis la solution conceptuelle jusqu'à la validation du train, est correctement suivi, conformément aux processus d'ingénierie et aux normes applicables.

 

• Accompagner les ingénieurs système dans la définition des exigences système, mais également dans la gestion des fournisseurs de sous-systèmes.

 

• Rendre compte de l'avancement du projet au client, effectuer des revues de conception et être globalement l'interface technique du projet.

 

• Fournir un support technique aux équipes opérant sur le terrain telles que la chaîne de production, la qualité, les tests et la validation.

 

• Appliquer les processus de métier de Train System avec les méthodologies et les outils associés pour garantir l'efficacité du domaine dans l'exécution du projet.

 

• Challenger les pairs du projet tout en améliorant les processus et en proposant des optimisations. Promouvoir les initiatives d'amélioration continue.

Dans ce rôle, vous devrez établir des relations de travail efficaces au sein d'une équipe d'ingénierie diversifiée, dans le but ultime de fournir des solutions d'ingénierie complexes et innovantes qui répondent aux besoins de nos clients.

 

Le gestionnaire des performances des trains veille à ce que des solutions adéquates et efficaces soient définies et est responsable de l'architecture globale du train, de l'intégration des systèmes et de la performance du train. Le Train Performance Manager veille également à ce que les livrables soient fournis conformément au calendrier et aux aspects financiers.

 

Vous êtes polyvalent, très autonome, avec une expérience pratique et à l'aise pour travailler dans un environnement en évolution rapide.

 

Qualifications minimales 

Au moins dix ans d'expérience en ingénierie des systèmes de véhicules ferroviaires

Expérience en intégration de systèmes

Baccalauréat en génie électrique ou combinaison de formation équivalente

 

Qualifications préférées

Expérience avec les chemins de fer de marchandises nord-américains

Expérience avec la propulsion électrique et les sources d'énergie alternatives (c'est-à-dire batteries, hydrogène, ...)

Expérience de la conception de logiciels système et des processus ou normes associés (ISO/IEC 15288)

Connaissance des processus Alstom Design for Quality.

 

 

 

 

What are my responsibities

The Train Performance Manager is responsible for delivering high performance engineering solutions within agreed timelines and budget to support business and broad company objectives.

 

In this role you:

  • Lead a team of system engineers in the development and integration of railway vehicle systems.
  • Define the physical and functional train system architecture in line with the customer requirements. You ensure each applicable function is properly allocated to a system or to conventional train control. You ensure compliance to engineering processes and regulatory standards to provide high quality solutions.
  • Develop action plans and coordinate resources with the Train Systems Manager to resolve problems and define mitigation plans as applicable.
  • Are accountable for the train global performance, systems functional integration and report progress to the Project Engineering Manager. You ensure the Train System project deliverables are provided in compliance with budgeted hours and defined deadlines through task scheduling.
  • Support the system engineers in the definition of system and sub-system requirements as well as the management of external vendors. You ensure that clear expectations in terms of technical deliverables, schedule and responsibility are defined.
  • Work with Train Control and Schematics engineers to ensure that electrical functions and systems interfaces are adequately integrated.
  • Liaise with engineers and technical experts to ensure compliance with appropriate industry and regulatory standards. You work with multi-disciplinary engineering functions to ensure a fully integrated, safe & compliant design. You also provide support to the Production Line, Procurement, Quality & Testing teams.
  • Additionally, you report the project technical progress and conduct design reviews for train systems with the end customer. In this regard you are the customer’s technical interface and provide support to the Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining the train system physical and functional architecture, allocating train functions to vehicle systems or conventional train control, ensuring systems functional integration and train performance including vehicle dynamics.
  • Providing technical leadership to ensure the design cycle from conceptual solution to train validation is properly followed, according to engineering processes and applicable standards.
  • Supporting system engineers with the definition of system requirements, but also with the management of subsystem vendors.
  • Reporting project progress to customer, conducting design reviews and being overall the technical interface of the project.
  • Providing technical support to teams operating in the field such as Production Line, Quality, Testing and Validation.
  • Applying Train System metier processes with associated methodologies and tools to ensure domain efficiency within project execution.
  • Challenging project peers while improving processes and proposing optimizations. Promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

In this role, you are expected to build effective working relationships across a diverse engineering team, with the ultimate goal of delivering complex and innovative engineering solutions that meet our customer needs.

 

The Train Performance Manager ensures adequate and effective solutions are defined and is accountable for overall train architecture, systems integration and train performance. The Train Performance Manager also ensures deliverables are provided in line with schedule and financial aspects.

 

You are versatile, very autonomous with hands-on experience and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

 

At least ten years of experience in railway vehicle systems engineering

Experience with systems integration

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of training

 

Preferred Qualification

Experience with North American Freight Railroads

Experience with Electric Propulsion and alternative energy sources (i.e. batteries, hydrogen, ...)

Experience with systems software design and associated processes or standards (ISO/IEC 15288)

Knowledge of Alstom Design for Quality processes
