Job Description

Overview:

As a Furniture and Accessories Categorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our staging company by accurately categorizing, tagging, and tracking furniture and accessories throughout various projects. Your responsibilities will include estimating depreciation of items, maintaining inventory records, and overseeing purchase transactions. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and a keen eye for design aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities:

Categorization and Tagging: Accurately categorize furniture and accessories based on style, function, and condition. Apply appropriate tags or labels for easy identification during staging and storage.

Estimating Depreciation: Assess the depreciation of furniture and accessories over time to determine their current value accurately. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.

Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory system for all furniture and accessories, including tracking quantities, locations, and condition status. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.

Purchase Tracking: Oversee the purchasing process for new furniture and accessories, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, and processing orders. Keep detailed records of all purchases, including invoices and receipts.

Project Coordination: Collaborate with the staging team to ensure timely delivery and placement of furniture and accessories for each project. Communicate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines and requirements.

Quality Control: Inspect furniture and accessories upon delivery to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Coordinate with vendors or suppliers to address any issues or discrepancies promptly.

Documentation and Reporting: Generate reports detailing inventory levels, depreciation estimates, and purchasing activities for management review. Provide insights and recommendations for improving inventory management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in the furniture or home staging industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to estimate depreciation and assess inventory values accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of design principles and furniture styles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, Dext or Sortly
