We are currentlylooking to hire a Manager or Senior Manager to be part of ourgrowing Tax team which can be based out of any of our locationsacross Canada. You will be involved in assisting clients withtransaction tax issues including completing tax due diligence (bothbuyside and sellside) tax structuring tax modelling presaleplanning assisting with the tax aspect of sale purchase agreementspostclosing items and other transaction taxmatters.

KeyAccountabilities andResponsibilities

  • Leadsellside and buyside tax due diligence engagements to identifyevaluate and quantify potential tax liabilities and exposures andwork with vendors to mitigate these exposures prior to commencing asale process and/or with legal counsel in reviewing purchase andsale and ancillary agreements
  • Work withPartners & clients to mitigate tax exposures prior tocommencing a sale process
  • Analyze complex taxissues to help design taxefficient structures for strategic andprivate equity acquisitions divestitures andreorganizations
  • Collaborate with team memberson the design of Canadian and international private equity fundsand related management structures
  • Analyzecomplex tax issues and prepare technical deliverables to outlinethe tax analysis and implications toclients
  • Manage and mentor engagement teammembers and work closely with team members located across thecountry
  • Maintain relationships with clients atthe highest level build positive working relationships and provideeffective support for engagements
  • Contribute tothe successful recruitment of newtalent
  • Develop the capabilities of lessexperienced staff through coaching knowledge transfer internaltraining delivery assignment of challenging workopportunities
  • Support business developmentinitiatives primarily in the private equity space and identify newopportunities with existingclients

Yourexperience andeducation

  • You havecompleted your CPA designation orLLB
  • Completion of Master of Taxation or CPACanada Indepth Tax program
  • You have at least 5years of experience in the professional services industry with aperiod specializing in Tax
  • You enjoy workingwithin M&A transactions and are keen to develop furtherknowledge in this area
  • Experienced withidentifying issues and developing solutions managing clientexpectations and engagement economics and teamleadership
  • You value teamwork client serviceand quality in detailed work
  • You display strongproblem solving analytical and communicationskills
