OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a full time Manager – Accounts Receivable. The successful candidate must have relevant accounting and administration experience with a demonstrated eye for detail. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the oilfield engineering services / service company sector. Reporting to the Controller, the Manager is directly responsible for managing the Project Administrator team including processes, training, reporting, full cycle AR and collections, contract management, accounts payable (vendor management), tracking rate sheets, and other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Diploma or higher education related to accounting, business or related field

· Leadership, management, and team-building skills

· Experience with document control and process implementation

· Good understanding in: Oil & Gas, third party billing and coding, setup and maintenance of client/vendor files

· Strong communication skills

· Working knowledge of MS Office with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

· Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills

· Strong multi-tasking skills with an ability to prioritize work and effectively meet deadlines

· Accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint Accounting software experience is an asset


RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage Project Administrators (PA)

· Provide training and ongoing support for the Project Administrator Team

· Creating process documentation for PA’s and PM’s

· Identify root cause of issues analysis

· Processing of full cycle accounts receivable/accounts payable (Canada/USA)

· Communication with project managers

· Managing PMP KPI program for Project Managers (working with Senior Management)

· Working with Contract Administration on collections of AR accounts and balances in a timely manner

· Management and resolution of delinquent accounts receivable

· Ensuring data is available and appropriately maintained

· Preparing project focused reports as requested

· Follow up with clients on outstanding invoices and responding to third party invoice inquiries

· Data entry into multiple accounting databases

· Providing accounts receivable support for operational and financial projects

· Other duties relating to the day-to-day operations

LOCATION

· This position will be based out of Calgary, Alberta office location (4240 Blackfoot Trail SW)
