Reporting to the Director, Pursuits, the Proposal Specialist is a member of the Client Development group responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of proposal materials and the development of professional quality presentations for business development calls and client visits.

Major Responsibilities

Assess client requirements in discussions with Partners and BD leads Provide recommendations on positioning Osler’s team, experience, and key differentiators and develop compelling materials Collaborate with pricing and practice management to establish messaging around pricing and value adds Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Partners and others in Client Development and Marketing Develop PowerPoint presentations for client development pitches Support the preparation of regular reporting on RFPs and pitches Responsible for production and delivery of proposals/pitches Follow up with legal teams on status of bid (win/loss) Monitor procurement websites, ensures RFP addendums are distributed on a timely basis CRM database assistance Working with marketing team to maintain Osler brand compliance

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

The position requires a university or college diploma, or relevant work experience, with a desired two to five years of experience in the legal or professional services industry. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.

Knowledge and Skills

Must have strong, demonstrable, skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail and excellent time management skills Document design and assembly expertise An ability to develop and maintain sound and cordial working relationships Pro-active thinker with the ability and willingness to listen and to influence Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours as required French language skills an asset A team player who also works well independently
