Your Opportunity:

The Family Counsellor role at the CAAMHPP Community Clinics is an advanced clinical position reporting to the Manager of the Child and Adolescent Addiction, Mental Health and Psychiatry Program, Community Clinics. It is part of a community based mental health team providing mental health services to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs. The Family Counsellor is responsible for offering a range of mental health services for children, adolescents and their families including assessment, formulation, diagnosis, individual and family therapy, group therapy, case management and referral to appropriate resources. Treatment is provided within the context of a brief episodic model of care, is evidence informed, goal focused and based on Family and Client Centered Care principles. Collaboration with other services within and outside of AHS is required. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection is required. Providing client care at least one evening a week is an expectation of the position. Supervision of multidisciplinary practicum students and residents is also an expectation.This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing group therapy.Completion of the Brain Story Certification.Understanding in the use of ACEs. Experience providing supervision to students.Experience and training in Collaborative Problem Solving.Experience with Connect Care.
