R&D Test Engineer

Salary Range: $80k to 90k + Bonus, Benefits, RRSP Match
Our client is a manufacturer in the HVAC sector looking to hire a Test Engineer for their Validation team. In this role, you will design, develop, and conduct tests to evaluate and validate the performance, efficiency, and safety of HVAC products and components. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HVAC systems, hands-on testing experience, and a passion for innovation in sustainable building solutions.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on automated production equipment -
Test Design & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new HVAC products and components, ensuring that testing protocols adhere to industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. -
Performance Evaluation: Conduct tests to assess system performance, energy efficiency, thermal management, airflow, noise levels, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards -
Prototyping & Validation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and build prototype systems and components for testing, while ensuring alignment with project specifications and objectives. -
Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify performance trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, including engineering teams, management, and regulatory bodies. -
Continuous Improvement: Provide insights and recommendations for design optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost-effective solutions based on test results. Contribute to the development of next-generation HVAC technologies. -
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all testing activities comply with environmental, safety, and quality standards. Maintain knowledge of current codes and industry best practices. -
Collaboration: Work closely with product development engineers, mechanical engineers, and other R&D team members to resolve issues, optimize performance, and validate new designs. -
Test Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain test equipment, instrumentation, and test chambers, ensuring their calibration and functionality for accurate results. -
Documentation & Standards: Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and any changes to processes. Support product certification and regulatory approval processes.
Mandatory Requirements:

Engineering Diploma or Degree preferably Electrical or Electronic -
3+ years of Product Testing within the HVAC field -
Experience with Electronic and Electrical testing equipment, Instrumentation
