We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic youth to join us in the role of Client Intervention Assistant for the summer. We're thrilled to announce that we’ve received funding support from the 2024 Canada Summer Jobs Program, a government program that helps Employers create jobs for young Canadians across the country. Consequently, there are vital criteria that applicants must meet to be considered for this position. Please review the following carefully before applying:

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (which means you must have a valid Social Insurance Number)

About the Role

The Client Intervention Assistant will assist seniors and interact with them and their caregivers and family members. 

Key Activities Include: 

  • Assisting with developing and coordinating in-person/virtual workshops for seniors and caregivers, which focuses on senior’s physical/mental wellness and educational information.
  • Updating Momiji applicants file, including entering the annual health survey data, making follow-up calls, updating clients’ information in our system.
  • Supporting Momiji tenants and community seniors by providing emotional support, information and referral services and advocacy where appropriate.
  • Assisting the department’s other projects and daily tasks, including resource development for Momiji tenants and community clients.
  • Attend staff or committee meetings as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player with good communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written, are essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Knowledge and understanding of Japanese Canadian culture is an asset

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled or recently graduated from social work, social service work, gerontology, nursing or health care management program.

Good to Know:

  • This position is for the summer with an anticipated start date within the month of May
  • 500 total hours – 35 hours/week
  • $17.75/hour
