Mechanical Designer

8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 100% in office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Produce an accurate and precise parts listing from a sales quotation
•Produce drawings for production, permit applications and installation instructions
•Create part numbers and BOM’s
•Participate in the analysis and problem solving of production and quality concerns
•Adhere to engineering design procedures set by the company
•Provide technical support to operations staff, customers and contractors on day to day issues
•Lead design improvements
•Maintain costing spreadsheets, work with all departments to ensure accuracy of costing program
•Prepare quotations in a timely manner, working closely with sales to understand requirements
•Review, complete and store all incoming quote requests

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree, diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technologist or Technician
•4-5 year experience
•Mechanical aptitude and practical mindset
•Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
•Able to read and produce technical/engineering drawings
•Horticulture product knowledge and experience would be an asset
•Understanding of production processing requirements and costs
•Solid experience with Microsoft office
•Solid experience in BOM/ERP systems
•Must be able to multi-task, work on a variety of proposals simultaneously and meet their deadlines
•Strong in trouble shooting, attention to detail and organizational skills
•Strong communication skills and in taking initiative
