CNC Operator/machinist

We are currently seeking for a talented and experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. Reporting to the Shop Manager, the CNC Machinist sets up and operates metal-cutting machinery to build tools and parts of various machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring the production of quality parts and tools in accordance with the guidelines of FNG. The successful incumbent will be a skilled professional, with excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. To excel in this role, you will also possess in-depth knowledge of the latest equipment and techniques emerging in the industry.

- **JOB DUTIES**:
The duties of a CNC Machinist include but are not limited to:

- Read and understand blueprint designs.
- Carry out preparation work which includes setting up machinery for production, inspecting of material and setups.
- Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery.
- The operator may be responsible for programming or formatting operations as per directions.
- Loading and unloading, as well as adjusting and monitoring the machine as required.
- Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC.
- Check material for damage and issues after machining to ensure it is within tolerance
- Complete routine daily maintenance of machinery.
- Fabricate, manufacture, or move aluminum parts safely, efficiently, and in a quality-minded manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
- Other duties as required

- **QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Previous experience with Building Envelope Manufacturing would be an asset.
- 1 year CNC experience required.
- Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.
- Strong comprehension and analytical abilities.
- Good English communication skills with the ability to take direction.
- Possess mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of the processes and practices of machining, and familiarity with automated machinery is required.
- Knowledge of offsets, clamping and math skills is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint designs.
- Commitment to teamwork, adhering to safety rules and procedures, efficient work ethic, and attention to detail is a requirement.
- Work environment requires wearing PPE: must have own safety steel toe footwear, safety glasses.
