You'll work closely with our team of designers to brainstorm ideas, develop campaign concepts, and make our message clear: together, with our members, we're a financial force for change.

The ideal candidate has hands on experience with copywriting and editing and is motivated to deliver best-in-class creative across all our platforms.

A typical day will involve:

Acting as a "brand steward" to ensure the brand tone and storytelling consistency are maintained across all platforms. Interpreting creative direction and adapting content from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts. Proposing copy concepts and presenting underlying strategic thinking to business leaders for buy-in and approval. Providing clear and engaging content for all platforms, whether it's a full-scale campaign (complete with an email journey, branch signage, web assets, and more) or a one-off social media post. Developing deep knowledge of Vancity's products, services, and member needs. Working with the content strategist and designers to enrich copy and compelling visual aids. Working with contractors that contribute to content deliverables ensuring brand voice is on target. 

You are:

Comfortable working in a collaborative environment. Resourceful and dedicated to researching relevant industry topics to inform content development.  Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously wit minimal supervision, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.  Able to manage work on tight timelines without compromising quality. Experienced in writing amidst a complex legal/regulatory environment.

You have :

Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Copywriter. University Degree, in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Communications or other relevant degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Copywriting certificate or SEO copywriting certificate. 5+ years of experience copywriting, including for web and social media channels. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional skill and understanding of the nuances of social media writing. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Interest in financial topics and the ability to break down complex products, services, or concepts into accessible, simple language. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong research skills. Excellent time management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently. A strong handle and genuine interest of digital content an asset. Experience using Content Management Systems an asset.
