About the role

We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team

What you’ll do here:

Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end internal reporting by working closely with various departments, including other finance teams. Prepare underwriting results and expense forecasts. Analyze underwriting results in close cooperation with the actuarial team. Support our various business units in tracking their workflow. Participate in initiatives to improve financial systems and accounting processes. Think critically about the controls in place and the various accounting treatments related to our operations. Make recommendations and suggestions to management based on your expertise. Simplify, standardize and improve controls of different work files.


What you bring to the table:

Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with Power BI, VBA, Smartview. At least three to five years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards and finance. Fast learning, agility and adaptability to change. Discipline, autonomy and professionalism. Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders. Bilingualism (French-English). No Canadian work experience required; however, you must be eligible to work in Canada.
