Key Responsibilities- Perform analysis of complex reinsurance instructions, provide key recommendations in the preparation of complex reinsurance journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial results under your responsibility.
- Perform key reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of the reinsurance balance and perform reinsurance settlement with key reinsurers.
- Provide insight and recommendations to your leader about reinsurance results.
- Ensure to implement, perform, and improve all key controls to ensure high-quality improvement provided to our leader.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment in the month-end closing process.
- Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting – is required.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards, or finance-related positions.
- Experience in Insurance/Reinsurance accounting – is required.
- Involved in Finance and Accounting project work.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) – is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-learning environment requiring agility and adaptability to change.
- Discipline, autonomy, and professionalism.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders.
