SUMMARY – Driver Recruiter, Lead

Shift: Full Time; Monday to Friday (Flexible)

The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Driver Recruiter to join the Human Resources Department in our Winnipeg facility. This position is responsible for sourcing, screening, qualifying, and hiring Over the Road Truck Drivers based on Operational requirements. The ultimate mission of this role is to eliminate un-seated trucks and improve driver retention and lower turnover rates. The Driver Recruiter provides guidance to hiring managers and other stakeholders with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations as well as departmental processes.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Analyze driver needs for designated recruitment territory across within Canada, communicates any special needs to the National Fleet ManagerSourcing potential candidates from various online channelsDesign and update job descriptionsCraft recruiting emails to attract candidates Screen incoming resumes and application formsConducting background checksVarious job interview formats, including phone screensAdvertise job openings on company’s careers page, social media, job boards and internallyProvide shortlists of qualified candidates to hiring managersSend job offers and answer queriesAttend regular conference calls with the department to discuss ongoing issues and concerns. Train and follow new industry rules and regulations Support and participate in strategies to develop, attract and retain strategies for drivers & owner operators.Participate in job fairs and host in-house recruitment eventsCollaborate with managers to identify future hiring needsAct as a consultant to new hires and help them on board 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Experience

Proven work experiences as an Driver Recruiter or similar roleFamiliarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and Resume databases Experience with sourcing techniques Understanding of referral programsA positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skillsStrong Written and Oral communication skills Strong organizational and priority management skillsAbility to multitaskAbility to work under minimal supervisionPrevious experience in the Transportation Industry is considered an asset.
