Here at Patterson Kaye Resort we offer fully equipped cottage rentals that range from 2 to 12 person occupancy (studios to 5 bedroom cottages) with 15 units on site (8 small 2-5 person occupancy, 4 medium 8-10 person occupancy, and 3 large 9-12 person occupancy). We're located on Golden Beach Road just 10 minutes from Bracebridge and are right on Lake Muskoka. Please note at this time we are unable to offer staff accommodation.

Responsibilities:
Supervisor overseas the staff but it also hands on.
  • Supervise/ Oversee staff, monitor staff performance.
  • Hiring and staffing within department.
  • Schedule staff and plan daily workload.
  • Perform a wide variety of cleaning duties. Thoroughly clean cottages, additional detailed housekeeping (steam cleaning, grout cleaning, BBQ cleaning), inventory management, keep housekeeping organized, clean the main lodge reception, and our restaurant dining room and bathrooms.
  • Quality control: Ensure all cottages are cared for and adhere to our company standards.
  • Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
  • Utilize specific cleaning supplies where necessary (no bleach on wood surfaces or no mixing of chemicals for example) 
  • Have a friendly, helpful, and caring disposition towards our guests and staff.
  • Notify management of any damages, deficits, and disturbances immediately.
  • Deal with reasonable complaints and/or requests with professionalism and patience.
  • Check stocking levels of all supplies and replace when appropriate, notify management to order more.
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.

Requirements:
  • Supervising and cleaning experience is required.
  • Administration skills.
  • Scheduling and planning skills.
  • Quality control skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work without supervision and maintain a high level of performance and attention to detail.
  • Customer-oriented and friendly.
  • Excellent organization, time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Work quickly without compromising quality.
  • WHMIS is an asset.

Working Conditions:
  • We are flexible with working around other schedules but please ensure you provide a schedule at least one week in advance of our schedule. 
  • Sustaining a positive work environment for our team members is of utmost importance. A negative attitude will not do well amongst our team.  
  • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

About Patterson Kaye Resort:

Our resort is in the heart of cottage country, Muskoka, Ontario. We offer relaxed cottage rentals from 2-12 person occupancy, a wide variety of 24 units, studios to fully equipped cottages. Our restaurant on site is kept busy year round with a variety of events and celebrations from weddings to business meetings. As well as a variety of seasonal amenities and activities.We are looking to employ multiple full and part time positions year round and can cross train if you are interested in multiple departments. We are also willing to fully train persons interested in entering the hospitality industry who have an enthusiastic, hard working personality and work well in a team.
