Front Desk Agent and Housekeeper

This job combines both roles of front desk agent and housekeeper.

**What you will be doing**:
**Customer Focused**
- Greet and direct visitors
- Check-in and check-out guests
- Communicate with guests prior, during and after their arrival
- Handle guest requests during their stay
- Arrange personalized services for customers (such as flowers in the room, bottle of wine, booking tables at our restaurant Basilico)
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean to accommodate guests’ needs
- Work through client challenges in a timely and professional manner
**Reservation Focused**
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities, restaurant onsite.
- Show rooms to potential clients
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
- Book reservations for walk-in guests
**Housekeeping**
- Follow regular cleaning and maintenance schedules, liaise with colleagues and supervisor(s), and ensure that all guest accommodations are cleaned to our standards
- Wipe and sanitize windows, walls, doors and fixtures
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize room showers, toilets, mirrors and sinks
- Vacuum carpets and clean hard floors (e.g., linoleum, tile etc.) using the appropriate product
- Regularly replace and restock room amenities, including towels, soaps and shampoos
- Regularly check if room lighting and appliances are in working order
- Doing regular laundry duties including washing, drying and folding of linen, towels etc.
- Complying with work safety practices and ensuring that all rooms attended are up to organizational health and safety standards along with federal, provincial and local safety standards
Your experience and skills include:
- Excellent Customer service attitude, go the extra mile to service your guests
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Problem solving skills
- Quick learner, you will learn computer/software systems such as reservation systems, Google services (gmail, calendar, chat)
- Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking, Expedia and TripAdvisor, Airbnb
- Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist or similar role
- Attention to Details, hands-on cleaning
Your working environment:
Inn at the Falls is a boutique inn overlooking Muskoka River, conveniently located in downtown Bracebridge, it comprises an 1870s estate with 20. Guests visit us for the history within the main building, the nature surrounding us and personalized services we provide to them.
We have a restaurant with capacity of 270, one of the largest patios in the area and beautiful views of the river.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bracebridge, ON P1L 2A6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Customer service: 3 years (required)
