Reporting to the Directorof Operations you will be responsible for ensuring the food& beverage guest service quality and consistency ismaintained to exceed all other properties within the city. Throughyour leadership and by engaging your team Fairmont Pallisers food& beverage experience will set the ultimate luxury standardand create memorable experience in a building which is the socialcenterpiece of the city ofCalgary.

Responsibilities and essential jobfunctions include the following but are not limitedto:

Leadership and Strategicplanning

  • Lead and coordinate EventsCulinary Stewarding and Outlets teams fostering a culture of highintegrity empathy trust and respect.
  • Leading byexample with high integrity empathy on the basis of trust andrespect
  • Ensure strict adherence to FairmontBrand Standards across all Food and Beverage Divisionareas.
  • Increases level of guest satisfaction bydelivering an improved product through colleague development andjob engineering;
  • Act as a key member of theLeadership and Crisis Management teams providing strategic guidanceand support as needed.

FinancialOversight:

  • Assist in the preparationpresentation and achievement of the hotels Business Plan includingthe Operating Budget Marketing and Sales Plan and CapitalBudget.
  • Develop and deliver monthly financialoutlooks for the Food and Beverage Division. Analyze trends anddevelop strategies to maximizeprofitability.
  • Ensures the development andaccuracy and delivery of monthly financial outlooks for the Foodand Beverage Division.

MarketAnalysis & CommunityEngagement:

  • Conduct indepth analysisof Food and Beverage business trends local and regional competitiveset and benchmarking in service quality food offerings pricing andprofitability.
  • Collaborate directly with foodproducers suppliers and procurement to ensure the highest qualityof products for the hotel.
  • Develop partnershipsand community initiatives within the marketplace to enhance thehotels offerings andstorylines.

Creating and updatingmenus that appeal to target markets considering seasonalavailability dietary trends and costeffective ingredients. Ensuringmenus are innovative appealing andprofitable.


Qualifications :

  • University Degreeor College diploma in Hotel or F&B Management and/orculinary institute is preferred;
  • Valid FoodSafety/Food Handlers Certification and Smart ServeCertification;
  • Valid Pro serve certificationand must maintain certification;
  • Minimum of 6years of progressive leadership within hotel Food &Beverage operations;
  • Experience managingprogressive beverage program in multioutlet operation focusing ontrends.
  • Proven ability to drive revenues andprofit without sacrificing colleague and customer experiences withstrong business acumen.
  • Proven ability in menuconcept and design effective marketing and online reputationmanagement.
  • Excellent business skills includingpricing revenue management and costcontrols;
  • Excellent communicationorganizational skills and interpersonal skills to assist in problemresolution with guests.
  • Management experiencein a unionized environment asasset.
