ABOUT THE JOB:
The aim of Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBSU differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.
The Operations Department ("OPER") ensures the operational processing and control of activity across all Global Banking and Investor Solutions ("GBIS") business lines (Capital Markets, ex-Newedge & Financing). OPER implements all necessary means to ensure the operational, administrative, and financial processing of capital markets and credit operations initiated by these business lines. In addition, OPER ensures the control and security of transaction processing in accordance with current financial regulations while acting as the first level of control on operations and booking quality. OPER provide all necessary support during the lifecycle of the transaction, perform Know Your Customer processing, and provide general client relationship management. OPER also acts to steer the evolution of regulatory projects and controls our external service providers.
The Counterparty Collateral Management team works to reduce counterparty risk by negotiating and administering collateral annex provisions for all master agreements (derivatives, repo, securities lending, clearing, prime brokerage, etc.). The collateral annex defines the acceptable collateral, calculation rules for each asset type, how custodial relationships are handled, and what actions are to occur during an event of a default or other termination event. The Cross-Asset Collateral and Risk negotiation team is responsible for providing the operational feasibility review during the legal negotiation, regulatory compliance, and controls where applicable, and input and validation of agreements in the relevant databases and investigating any disputes or regulatory inquiries. We are a cross-regional team with hubs in India, Paris, and New York.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
Contract Management
Ensure accurate setup of contracts in referential systems Input and validate collateral annexes for various master agreement types Provide feedback on operational feasibility during master agreements negotiation Participate in global efforts to create/update negotiation and operational control procedures Assist margin managers with dispute reviews and contract updates Take directed actions in response to default or termination events Fulfill quality control and respond to information requests from inspectors and regulators Review and remediate contract data in databases as neededOffshore Oversight on Migrated Processes / Process improvements
Define controls to mitigate operational risks Draft procedures and provide cross-training to team members Identify and implement process improvements for daily operations and project managementProjects/Database Support
Contribute to new business development and regulatory reforms affecting collateral management Collaborate with local/global teams to develop workflows for new products Define controls for new business, migrations, and projects Participate in prioritizing database releases/enhancements for process improvement, liaising with counterparts and IT support

Must Have: Technical Skill
Proficient in repo, derivatives, and Collateral Management Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Excellent accounting and financial analysis abilities Familiar with banking procedures and legal documentation Exceptional organizational and documentation skills Stay updated on changing market conditions Maintain professional communication with clients and team Proficient in Microsoft Office applicationsCompetencies:

2-3 years’ experience in the financial services industry 1-3 years direct collateral management experienceNice to Have:
Good working knowledge of VERMEG’s Colline platform Experience with documentation or legal backgroundLanguages: French, English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
