The Research Analyst will perform research and analysis in support of business strategies for new or growing markets. Working as an integrated member of the strategy and business development team, this role will support a range of strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Business Development, the Research Analyst will perform a wide range of tasks including business analysis, financial analysis, business case development, business research, market research and grant/proposal development.

Note: This is a casual position from May 13 - August 30. Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver. 

What you'll do 

Perform tasks such as business/market/competitive research to support overall strategy development Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with customers, partners, suppliers and within Seaspan. Support implementation of strategic initiatives working with the broader Seaspan team. Participate as a member of capture teams and proposal teams as required for each approved opportunity. Perform research on new markets

What you'll bring

Completion of university/post grad in a study area relevant to this role. Proven track record of business research and analysis. Desired experience with technical, programmatic, financial and commercial aspects of complex deals. Ability to work in a highly flexible and fluid environment and maintain calm and rational thinking and reasoning at all times. Demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders and team members. Exceptional interpersonal skills, superior oral and written capabilities. Skilled at advocacy, influence, and persuasion, with the able to convince others to act on information or recommendations based on compelling logic or common best interests. Strong knowledge and expertise with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel). Self-starter with good organizational skills who can work both independently and as a member of a team.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.
