Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Development and working within an agile framework, the Software Development Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing one or more multidisciplinary teams consisting of developers, software architects, and product owners. They will ensure the performance and technical skill levels of each team member within their respective squads while promoting best practices in an agile environment. They will be involved in the product life cycle (definition, architecture, processes, quality, DevSecOps, etc.).

Tasks:

Structure, build, and lead a highly effective team. Mentor, inspire, train, and hold the team accountable for delivering results, spreading best practices, and enhancing their skills and impact. Ensure the quality of work and the individual performance of team members within their squads. Participate in SaaS architecture. Conduct annual performance evaluations and develop improvement or development plans as needed. Recruit new talent and establish service agreements with potential partners. Closely monitor project progress with the team and communicate updates to management. Promote the proper use of various tools in place. Encourage close collaboration between teams and departments. Ensure the dissemination of best development practices and corporate culture. Propose improvements to current processes and assist in implementing solutions. Suggest and implement tools to enhance squad efficiency. Support ongoing training plans for team members in terms of technical skills acquisition (coding dojo, etc.). Present, when necessary, architectures and methodologies to clients and auditors.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 10 years or more of experience in software development. 3 years or more of experience in team management as a manager or team lead. Experience in software architecture. Proven delivery of at least one SaaS product. Bilingual in French and English (oral and written). Experience in object-oriented programming. Experience in server application and/or microservices development using languages and frameworks such as C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript (Node.js, React.js, TypeScript), etc. Asset: Ability to represent the company on technical topics in front of clients.
