**Our Team**

Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey’s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.

The Mines Technical Services (MTS) team is integral to the success of the Voisey’s Bay operation to ensure we continue to be a safe, predictable, and reliable producer. The various disciplines within our team collaborate to ensure we provide reliable, quality data to support mine design, planning and production.

**The Opportunity**

This is guided by an adjacency principle that first gives preference to those who live on the coast of Labrador, followed by those residing in the rest of Labrador, those residing on the island of the province, followed by the rest of Canada._**

We are currently seeking a** Divisional Supervisor - MTS **to join our **Mine Technical Services (MTS) **department in **Voisey’s Bay, NL**. This permanent position is based at the Voisey’s Bay mine site in Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. This position is on a two week on, two week off/one week on, one week off rotation.

The MTS Divisional Supervisor will supervise a group of technical staff responsible for site based technical services execution work at the Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps Mines located in Voisey’s Bay, NL. This includes production and development layouts, survey, ventilation, ground control QA/QC, and seismic technology. Following the 3-month plan provided by the Mine Planning team, along with guidance and instruction from MTS functional groups such as Geology, Ventilation, Ground Control and Standards, the MTS Divisional Supervisor, will oversee the execution of mine technical services execution work. In this position, you will:

- Ensure the work performed by MTS execution staff is done safely, following Vale standards and government regulations, through regular job observations and audits.
- Be accountable for executing all required mines technical services work required by the monthly 3-month plan, including, but not limited to, production and layouts, survey, ventilation, survey, ground control QA/QC and seismic technology.
- Participate in daily schedule review meetings, weekly 7-21 meetings and monthly planning meetings.
- Report on monthly KPI actuals, including all required budget driver actuals data, incentive calculation requirements.
- Submit daily reporting of all required metrics, including, backfill placed, etc.
- Ensure the capability of all direct report engineering and technical staff, meeting the expected performance level. Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports.
- Understand the EIT Program Progression and non-Engineering technical staff career progression program.
- Provide care and calibration to all technical instruments and software used by the MTS execution team.

**About You**

**Education**:

- An undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation preferred.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience with a focus on underground mine design, mining technology, and high level of understanding of underground mining activities.

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of mining standards and guidance documents.
- Knowledge of engineering planning software (Deswik).
- Mentorship and coaching skills required for leading a large technical team.
