Our  Accounts Payable Lead  builds relationships with customers and  keeps the promises we make to our vendors and suppliers . The Accounts Payable Lead provides mentoring of the team to support their development. If you are a detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional who is eager to learn and thrives on deadlines, we would love to connect.

We’re looking for an  Accounts Payable Lead  to join our head office located in Vernon,  British Columbia.  Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

Business/Accounting or related post-secondary training. A minimum of 3 years Accounts Payable & Accounting related experience. Have strong technical and systems knowledge to support Accounts Payable Automation. Strong technological skills (Excel, Adobe, business systems). Knowledge of Electronic payment processes. Procurement knowledge is an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong team players with analytical and interpersonal abilities. Strong planning and problem-solving skills. Ability to create a positive environment when dealing with problematic situations and tactfully handle difficult conversations.

In this role you will: 

Provide support to the Accounts Payable Supervisor by supporting the daily processing of payables within the Vernon Office as well as provide support to Divisional Accounts Payable team members. Work with external customers, Management, Corporate/Divisional Finance, Treasury, Procurement, IT, Transportation, Sales teams, and internal/external auditors. Adapt to change quickly. Mentor team members to support individual and departmental growth. Lead and support various projects in a positive and constructive manner. Provide coverage for the Accounts Payable Supervisor. Identify opportunities to improve processing efficiencies.
