Job Description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), Regina Area invites applications for a contracted physician to provide approximately five (5) hours of service per week to the Dementia Assessment Unit at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The Physician will provide services to the SHA by providing Long Term Care Services within the Dementia Assessment Program, including on-unit patient visits, team conferencing, pre-admission and assessment conferencing and responding to ad hoc requests for phone/virtual consults and orders as required related to the medical care of the patients, working in collaboration with the Geriatric Services team and the Dementia Assessment Unit care team.

The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

Job Qualifications

The candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Successful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan.

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Family Medicine in the Regina Area.
