As a Privacy Practice Analyst, you will be responsible for independently conducting technical analysis functions, and consulting with senior staff on projects within identified sectors or portfolios.

Your role will function within delegated authority under the FOIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) and adhere to the principles of administrative fairness and common law. You will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts.

The job responsibilities include ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and responding to FOIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) requests, addressing complaints from individuals and families regarding the handling of their personal information, providing information to the Director of Quality Assurance about trends in practice to improve processes, communicating with external entities as needed to ensure appropriate responses to requests, and offering support and advice to field staff on privacy or information requests.

Responsibilities
As a subject matter expert, you will provide support and guidance to different business units, managers, staff, and service providers on privacy and information requests.
This role also leads and coordinates investigations of privacy incidents, responds to and manages information incidents, and privacy breaches, including investigations, and notifications, and develops follow-up recommendations.
Monitor and continuously improve our privacy program by developing policies and procedures, including standards, forms, and agreements that support our privacy initiatives. You will keep yourself updated on news, events, laws, and regulations, and communicate compliance requirements to various stakeholders.
collaborate with Regional Operations, Information Management, Human Resources, and various teams to support our privacy during program development to comply with new and existing policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Expert knowledge of FOIPPA, including information access, the release of information, and implementation of control technologies as they apply to privacy information contained in electronic and non-electronic media
Ability to interpret privacy concepts and requirements in light of diverse business functions and operational activities
Exceptional critical thinking skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Extremely responsive and able to manage competing priorities
Strong knowledge of the MS Office, ability to build and maintain a database and use appropriate software to redact information from documents
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Services, Law, Public Administration, Information Management, Communications, or a related degree
A minimum of three years of experience in a senior policy/program analyst position, with at least one year of focus on privacy within a complex, organizational environment
One year minimum of focus on privacy within a complex, organizational environment is preferred
CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) designation is preferred
