Your Opportunity:

The clerk IV in the CKD clinic is responsible for patient check in, check out, demographic verification and registration in Connect Care. They are responsible for scheduling clinic appointments, including virtual, new, and follow up appointments for the nephrologist as well as multidisciplinary team. The clerk is responsible for processing nephrologists’ orders including scheduling of diagnostic tests, therapies and consultations. The clerk is responsible for document scanning into Connect Care. They are responsible for clinic flow and clinic room assignment on a daily basis. The clerk is responsible for answering the clinic telephone and redirecting patient calls to the appropriate resource. The clerk assists with other clinic activities such as ordering supplies and patient education materials. The clerk is responsible for directing patient flow and redirecting patients to other areas of the site. This position is based in the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.

Description:

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

High school diploma Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant course and medical terminology required.Computer/keyboarding skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, Access/ Outlook, Connect Care, Net Care, Nephrology Information System (NIS)Previous experience as a clerk in an outpatient clinic The successful applicant must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven organization and time management skills and be able to work effectively in fast-paced, stressful situations. Must be able to work well independently.Must be able to lift 20 pounds and push a bariatric patient in a wheelchair.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Alberta Kidney Care-North.Experience in the Chronic Kidney Disease, General Nephrology or Diabetic Nephrology Clinics.
