Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Electrical BIM Designer, we'll count on you to:

Create detailed electrical designs for facilities, including lighting systems, power systems, communications, security and fire detection in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). Perform basic system calculations, drawing production, some master specification editing, and cost estimating assistance. Perform assignments utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures under the supervision of a licensed professional. Follow all internal and major clients’ BIM and CAD standards. Coordination with other departments and disciplines including Architectural, Mechanical, Structural and Civil to ensure that Electrical package matches and is integrated into the project drawing package. Direct the efforts of less-experienced BIM and CAD Technicians as needed. Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience with electrical and mechanical projects. Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation and MS Office Suite Software knowledge. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
