Job Description
Our client based in Greater Toronto, Canada is looking for a Senior Product Designer. Be a Design Champion for Parents Lead the Charge on Our First Mobile App

Here's the lowdown:

  • Mobile Design Pioneer: Join the Parents team as a Senior Product Designer, playing a pivotal role in launching our first mobile experience.
  • User-Centric Champion: Utilize design thinking to craft delightful mobile solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You'll collaborate with product managers and engineers to bring your vision to life.
  • Research Rockstar: You're comfortable with both generating new ideas and analyzing user research & feedback. This expertise will fuel continuous improvement and optimization of the mobile experience.

Your Impact:

  • Design Mastermind: Craft user interfaces, wireframes, and prototypes that prioritize user needs and business goals, while staying on top of design trends and best practices.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work hand-in-hand with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality and consistent product design implementation.
  • Research Detective: Conduct user research and usability testing sessions. Analyze user feedback and behavior to identify opportunities for improvement and inform design decisions.
  • Component Guru: Build and maintain our component library, ensuring consistency and efficiency across product teams.
  • Feasibility Focus: Collaborate with engineering to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Partner with data analysts to measure and optimize customer engagement and retention. Iterate on designs based on data insights.
  • Trend Spotter: Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in product design and user experience. Share your knowledge with the broader product development team.
  • Design Advocate: Represent product design in cross-functional meetings. Communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of experience delivering elegant SaaS applications across the product design lifecycle.
  • Breathes user-centered design (UCD) and human-computer interaction (HCI). You're proficient in planning and conducting user research, testing, prototyping, and addressing usability/accessibility concerns.
  • Designs responsive web experiences with expertise. You leverage metrics to validate and inform product decisions.
  • Has experience with Design Systems/component libraries and thrives within technical constraints.
  • Wears many design hats (product, interaction, visual) and iterates on features efficiently.
  • Embraces new challenges and prioritizes continuous learning.
  • Rocks design tools like Figma, Usertesting.com, and Dovetail.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, presenting strong justifications for design decisions and championing the user's perspective.
  • Boasts a portfolio showcasing your design expertise.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in the education sector or designing for parent-based products.
  • A background in designing B2C products.
