NAIT’sElectrician Apprenticeship and Electrical Installations Technology Diploma programsprepare students to install, alter, repair, and maintain electrical systemsdesigned to provide heat, light, power, control, signals, or fire alarms forbuilding premises. They prepare students to be comfortable splicing, joining,and connecting wires to form circuits, and testing those circuits for integrityand safety. Students will learn more about how to position and installdistribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breakerpanels and fuse enclosures and fiber optic systems or electrical generationsources. Also, interpreting electrical, mechanical, and architecturaldrawings, specifications, and applicable codes, to determine wiring layouts. 

The ElectricianApprenticeship and Electrical InstallationsTechnology Diploma programs are currently recruiting for continuousinstructors who are energetic leaders, committed to student success, and haveoutstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Thesuccessful candidates will: 

Havestrong technical knowledge in Electrical.  Beable to work both independently and within a team environment  Bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute tothe advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborativeand dynamic team 

KeyResponsibilities:  

Prepareand present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory andindustry setting  Participatein curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews  Facilitatethe learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensureefficient and effective delivery of course materials  Manageinstructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effectivelearning environment  Createassessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records  Provideearly and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize studentsuccess and retention  Respondto student issues  Utilizeappropriate educational technology for presentations, communications andprogram promotions  Maintenanceand/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly  Maintainprofessional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industrypartners  Activelyparticipate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Planas identified by the institute  Utilizeregular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement  Improvethe quality of instruction through professional development activities  Otherduties as assigned

Qualifications:   

HighSchool Diploma  Completionof Electrician Journeyperson ticket or provincial equivalent includingInter-Provincial Red Seal required  Minimum5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket.  Teachingexperience an asset
