TheSchool of Skilled Trades is seeking change oriented, team players to fill therole of casual instructor in the Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship andIndustrial Heavy Equipment Technology programs. Programs will train students tomaintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. 

Theseprograms are seeking casual instructors to deliver a variety of program contenton a course-by-course basis. Additionalinformation about the courses offered can be found at Heavy Equipment TechnicianApprenticeship and Industrial Heavy EquipmentTechnology . Upon review of the coursesoffered in the program, if you see some alignment with your knowledge, skills,abilities, and passion, we would like to hear from you. Please submit a resumeand cover letter outlining your areas of interest and related background

Responsibilities:

Prepare and present classes to students in avariety of modalities Prepare, administer, and grade all course materials Organize and supervise practical assignments Utilize appropriate educational technology forcommunications and presentations Maintain professional ethical relationships withstudents and colleagues, respond professionally to student issues and concerns Maintain student attendance and other documentationas required Maintain regular contact with relevant industriesand program related organizations

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills Able to work both independently andwithin a team environment Strong desire to help studentssucceed Excellent communication skills Strong knowledge of computers andaccessories.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma Completion of Heavy Equipment Technician AlbertaJourneyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-ProvincialRed Seal required Minimum 5 years recent industry experience aftercompletion of Journeyperson ticket preferred Additional relevant post-secondary education and/orprofessional development training Teaching experience preferred Highway truck experience an asset
