The at the invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the . The teaching and pedagogical innovation position will focus on the following areas (please note that the majority of the teaching will be in English):
(i)undergraduate anatomy and physiology, with special emphasis on the cardiovascular, digestive, immune, and respiratory systems;
(ii) the endocrine regulation of metabolism, and the anatomy of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems;
(iii) selected topics in human physiology, pathology, and pathophysiology;
(iv) experience in teaching medical students, via both lectures (basic sciences, including embryology) and CBL tutoring;
(v) experience in the management of course web sites, course coordination, and curriculum development;
(vi) experience in educational innovation and research as evidenced by conference presentations and/or publications in education-based journals.

The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine comprises over 100 faculty members, features a vibrant research atmosphere addressing fundamental questions in basic biomedical and educational research. While the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine is located at the hospital campus, the successful candidate will teach large and small classes of students at the main downtown university campus, at the Lees campus, and also at the hospital campus. Teaching will be primarily in person and at the undergraduate level (first year through third year of bachelor programs and undergraduate medical students) with an additional requirement for teaching pathology to postgraduate students enrolled in the new Master of Applied Science in Anatomical Sciences Education. Some teaching may be delivered virtually.
Title of the position : Assistant Professor. The higher rank of Associate Professor will only be considered should the successful candidate possess an appropriate level of experience and commensurate achievements.
Number of positions available: One (1)
Duties : The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities evidenced by research, artistic or literary creation, or professional work and c) academic service activities.
Terms : Tenure-track position.
Salary : Assistant Professor salary scale commensurate according to APUO salary scale. Note: salary for higher ranks is proportional according to level and experience.

Relocation expenses : The successful candidate may be eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with the University policy.

Skill requirements:
Education: PhD related to basic sciences; in addition, a postgraduate degree in education would be an asset Work experience: Strong track record of teaching experience involving large classes and encompassing the following topics: anatomy, physiology, cell biology, pathology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Experience in course coordination and both online and in-person teaching. Presentations at significant conferences and/or publications that demonstrate a commitment to educational innovation and research.Excellent communication skills in English. Active or Passive knowledge of the other official language (French or English) is a requirement for tenure. English-French bilingualism is an asset.
