Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Social Work is the minimum requirements;Minimum of two years working in post-secondary in a related program;Licenses/Certificates: Registered Social Worker - R.S.W;Class 5 driver’s license;Criminal record check prior to commencement.Successful candidate must provide College or University transcripts, proof of valid driver’s license and criminal record check to Human Resources prior to commencement.
This position is covered under the Collective Agreement between Northern Lakes College and the Faculty Association of Northern Lakes College.

Practicum Coordinator Social Work & Addictions Counselling Programs

Major Job Function:
This position primarily involves administrative and coordination duties, with instructional duties assigned as necessary. This front-line position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all components of practicum placement for the Social Work and Addictions Counselling programs which includes the following:
Recruit, manage, and support all practicum placements, field supervisors, and field liaisons.Design and deliver orientation and training to students, field supervisors, and field liaisons.Maintain partnership agreements with practicum agencies and associated documentation.Manage files for students and practicum sites using college shared drive.Facilitate integration of practicum education with other components of the diploma curricula.Collaborate with faculty on selection and assessment of field agency selection and placements.Work with the Program Chair and to initiate, plan, and execute student orientation and faculty support.Work with Program Coordinator to maintain accreditation standards and assessment.Work closely with others in department to ensure there are smooth practicum processes in place.Make practicum placement policies available to diploma students through a Practicum Student Handbook.Maintain curricular documents related to the practicum (catalog, manual, handbook, website, brochures).Understand, interpret, and implement Northern Lakes College policies and procedures.Initiate, plan, and implement programming for students to enhance the learning environment and provide opportunities for feedback.Sustain strategic partnerships with agencies for long-term student placements.Evaluation of program to conform with the goals, objectives and priorities of the College, the department, and the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW) standards.Participate in the recruitment, screening and selection of program instructors and support staff.Other duties as assigned by the Chair, Dean, Associate Dean, or Vice-President Academic.Qualifications:
