The Green Line LRT (light rail transit) Project is the largest infrastructure investment in Calgary’s history. It comes with $5.5 billion in commitments from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and The City of Calgary. The Green Line LRT is designed to be both a transit system and a platform for future city building opportunities. It encourages redevelopment and investment in Calgary businesses and communities. You will be embedded within the client office team environment, and as such you are required to be in downtown Calgary , for the full working week
Your role within the team:
Lead the technical planning and design of a rail infrastructure project, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Develop and maintain technical project plans, schedules, and budgets, including cost estimates, risk management plans, and quality control procedures. Oversee the work of the project engineers, technicians, and other technical staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Ensure that all technical aspects of a project are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Collaborate with stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure that all technical requirements are met. Participate in project reviews and provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager and other senior stakeholders. Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues and provide solutions to resolve any technical problems that arise during the project. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. 5 years of experience in senior design management roles with five years of experience in a senior role (e.g., a Design or Technical Director). Experience in risk management and quality control, and a thorough understanding of project management processes and methodologies. A minimum of 10 years' experience in rail infrastructure project management. Proven track record of delivering large-scale rail infrastructure projects, with experience in project planning, design, and delivery. Strong technical knowledge of rail infrastructure systems and components, including track, signals, power, and communications systems. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Must be willing to travel to project sites.
